Fetzer Vineyards' wine and food
educator, Colleen Stewart, will guide an excursion that
will de-mystify the age-old confusion of wine and food
flavors. The aroma challenge will help each person learn
how to identify and describe the elusive aromas in wine.
After the aroma challenge, the class will explore how
wine and food can be combined in interesting and harmonious
ways. Seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 Noon.

Cheeses" |

Fetzer Vineyards' Culinary Director
and award-winning author, John Ash, will talk about America's
growing interest in cheese. Tasting and cooking will focus
on some of his favorites, especially on the artisan farmstead
cheeses from California. Class begins at 9:00 a.m. and
ends at 12:00 Noon. Fee: $80 per person. |

Ken Boek, for a behind-the-scenes introduction to vineyards
and grape growing. Among the topics covered will be organic
farming techniques, cover crops, trellising, pruning and
harvesting. Tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00

Wednesday, June 7, 2000 - Garden Workshop: "Herbs in
the Garden" |

Herbs are both beautiful and
functional. Fetzer Vineyards' garden and landscape director,
Kate Frey, invites students to learn about these diverse
plants and how to design and plant your own beautiful
and rewarding herb garden. Workshop begins at 9:00 a.m.
and ends at 12:00 Noon. Fee: $25 per person. |
