One can imagine founder A.W. Foster tallying up his hop receipts in
his ledger or just relaxing in this former ranch office. This quaint
and quiet outbuilding on the edge of the Haas House grounds has been
redesigned with the serene comfort of a vineyard bungalow. Guests
can take the short stroll to the Fetzer Garden, or just relax on the
private patio and remember what it's like to enjoy doing nothing.
The privacy of the Valley Oaks cottage is perfect for a weekend getaway
for two or an escape from the world for one. It comes equipped with
an overstuffed queen bed, a sitting area with television and a modern
bath with a walk-in shower.

The Haas family owned the Valley Oaks Ranch before the Fetzers purchased
it in 1984. They used the property mainly as a summer retreat to escape
the crowds in the city, and they especially prized the expansive style
and open design of their family home.
Built in stages between 1900 and 1948 and redesigned two years ago
to give it the feel of a contemporary country estate, the Haas House
has grand bedrooms and a downstairs sitting area. Visitors are invited
to linger over a good book with a glass of wine or to warm themselves
in front of the hearth during the cooler months. |
