BROWN FORMAN WINES USA ANNOUNCES 2000-2001
TRADE TRAINING PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Hopland, CA, March 1, 2000 - The Brown-Forman Wine Group has announced the 2000-2001 schedule for their comprehensive new education program designed for wine and food professionals. Named the Brown-Forman Center for Global Wine Education, the program provides students with a compelling training program aimed at bringing together the worlds of food and wine in an enlightening and useful manner. The focus of the program is to explore how the subtleties of terroir and craftsmanship combine to produce great wines around the world. Viticulture, viniculture, cooperage, and food and wine pairing will be featured as part of a program that will bring students "from the earth to the table."

The faculty is led by noted chef, award-winning cookbook author, and educator John Ash, Brown-Forman's Director of Food and Wine Education, and features acclaimed author and educator Karen MacNeil-Fife, along with other experts from the fields of winemaking, viticulture, and on-premise wine education.

June 11-14, 2000
October 1-4, 2000
March 11-14,2001

"Understanding the interaction between wine and food, literally from the earth to the table, provides a wine or food professional with the tools necessary to create more useful wine lists and on-premise selling programs. The ultimate goal of the program is to create better wine and food experiences for the customer," explains Ash. "We have an outstanding faculty, and a curriculum that our graduates will be able to put to use immediately. We anticipate that a diploma from our program will carry some weight in the industry."

Cost to attend the course is $625 per person, which includes all meals, transportation to and from the campus in Hopland, Mendocino County and nearby accommodations, all wines, and teaching materials. Travel to Northern California and accommodations are not included.
